How does CFHC raise funds?

The two main sources of funds that CFHC depends on are the donations from philanthropic public and from organizations, which give importance to corporate social responsibility. Public contribution in cash and kind helps in meeting the day to day needs, while corporate support in implementing projects. CFHC reaches the public and corporate by sending out appeals during festival season and school re-opening time. Also we have registered in Just dial.

Will my small contribution make a difference to this overwhelming problem?

Since its beginning 27 years ago, CFHC has demonstrated that each of us contributing to the degree we can in our own unique way can accomplish amazing things. Even today, more than 80% of the funds CFHC raises come from individual donors.

Are CFHC employees paid for their work?

CFHC has 52 persons as salaried employees. They are paid a regular salary. It is important to note, however, that CFHC salaries are modest in comparison with commercial organisations. Our objective is to obtain long-term, full-time, dedicated services from professionally qualified individuals. We believe these are necessary to ensure that all our activities - development, support, financial management etc. - are carried out effectively and efficiently, thus ensuring that the resources we raise from the public are utilized optimally.

How are resources used?

We would like to take this opportunity, to reiterate our on-going need for support to CFHC in the form of infrastructure, equipment, corpus funds, skills and services. It is support of this nature that enables us to focus on our activities in the field rather than on our own viability. Each rupee we save on costs is another rupee that can be deployed to the benefit of deprived people under our care.

How can I be sure that the money I send is managed correctly?

CFHC is committed to the highest levels of management of all its resources. Through systematic monitoring and evaluation CFHC seeks ongoing improvement of the quality of its projects. In addition, CFHC has systematic financial audits each year of all its projects and maintains a high level of accountability to its sponsors and donors. Total transparency in transactions with our supporters is the norm.

Further, any donor is free to visit our facilities and see the impact of how their donation is making a change in the lives of these children and other residents.

How much money actually gets to the cause?

Approximately, 90% of all the funds received by CFHC go directly to the projects and around 10% is used to meet administration costs.

Child Sponsorship

How does my sponsored child benefit?

CFHC aims to promote lasting change in the life of the sponsored child. Your support will provide a child with supplementary nutrition, education and health care. This gives a chance for children to experience a normal, healthy and happy childhood.

How long can I sponsor a child?

Child Sponsorship is generally a long-term commitment, up to 10 years or more. You can sponsor the same child for as long as the child completes plus two or till such time that the child stands in his/her own feet independently.

Occasionally there may be a instances where the sponsored child leaves the programme, then if you wish you can continue the sponsorship for another deserving child.

Is there a specific age for a child to be sponsored?

Not really. You are free to sponsor infant, school going or special children. However, if there are specific requests from the sponsors we try our best to comply with their wishes.

Do I get a progress report on my sponsored child?

When you become a sponsor, you will receive a pack containing a photo along with the personal details of the child. After that once in every six months you will receive your sponsored child's progress report. The child will also write back to you if you write to him or her. Every year while you renew the sponsorship latest photograph of the child will be sent to you. You are welcome to send gifts to the child during special occasions like birthday, festivals etc..

How are children chosen for sponsorship?

When you send your payment we will select a child who needs sponsorship and send the details. You can also inform us the age group and sex of the child you prefer to sponsor while sending payment.

Am I the only sponsor for my sponsored child?

If you are willing to bear complete expense for a child, then yes, you will be the only sponsor. But if you wish to contribute only for education or only for maintenance, we will take multiple sponsors to meet the other expenses.

Can I sponsor more than one child?

Yes. You can sponsor as many children as you wish to. There are many children waiting for sponsorship.

What if I cannot continue my sponsorship payments? What will happen to the child?

We understand that financial and personal situations change. If you need to cancel, just let us know and we will find another sponsor for your child. Your child will not be neglected. CFHC will ensure that the funding commitment to the project is maintained.

Can I send extra gift money to my sponsored child?

Yes, you can send extra money for buying small gifts for occasions like your sponsored child's birthday or to celebrate his/her outstanding performance or festivals etc.

Can I visit my sponsored child?

Yes. You are most welcome to visit the child you sponsor. A visit means you can also see how much the children are benefiting through the sponsorship programme. A visit also makes your sponsorship more meaningful for you as well as your sponsored child.


How do I send my contribution to CFHC?

You can send it by Wire transfer to our bank, Money Order, Cheque, Demand Draft or Credit Card (through Internet) or by cash when you come directly. Please do not send Postal Orders and cash through mail. Cheques Made in favour of “Christ Faith Home for Children “

How much of the contribution I send is tax exempted?

Donations to CFHC are tax exempted under section 80-G of the IT Act. Our receipt carries this message and the receipt will suffice for claiming tax. The tax rebate is 50% under section 80-G.
